SD Premier Outdoor was hired to design and build a complete outdoor living makeover in Carlsbad, San Diego. The homeowners wanted to transform their backyard into a safe, modern, and family-friendly space that fit their lifestyle.
Client’s Challenge
The property owners faced these challenges:

- The old wood lattice pergola was deteriorating and had damaged outdoor furniture.

- With a new baby in the family, the yard was not kid-safe or baby-proof.

- The existing backyard had dated features and very little usable space.

- As a generational home, the design no longer met the family’s current needs.
They needed a complete renovation that would provide safety, comfort, and functional areas for entertaining and raising their child.
Our Solution
We worked closely with the clients to design a backyard that addressed every concern while creating a stylish and durable outdoor retreat. The project included:

- Demolition & Teardown: Removal of the old pergola and outdated concrete patio.

- Attached Alumawood Pergola: A modern Alumawood structure with recessed lighting and a ceiling fan for year-round comfort.

- Outdoor Kitchen: Complete build with a BBQ, griddle, fridge, and storage drawers.

- Paver Patio: Over 800 sq. ft. of Belgard Dimensions 12 Rio pavers, creating the illusion of a larger yard and a clean, modern finish.

- Fire Feature: Linear fire burners (6 inches by 4 ft long) to add ambiance and warmth.
- Entertainment: An attached drop-down TV for watching sports and family movie nights.
Our Process

- Preparation: Full demolition of the wood pergola and existing concrete patio.

- Installation: Pergola, paver patio, and outdoor kitchen constructed with precision and attention to detail.
