Project Overview

SD Premier Outdoor was hired to design and build a low-maintenance outdoor living space that adds shade, reduces afternoon heat inside the home, and upgrades curb appeal. The scope included a new paver patio, covered patio with recessed LED lights and a ceiling fan, drip irrigation and landscaping, and brass-fixture LED accent lighting.

 

Client’s Challenge

• • Uneven, aging pavers and thirsty grass made upkeep difficult.

• • Direct western sun overheated the living room every afternoon.

The owner wanted a comfortable all-weather outdoor area for relaxing or entertaining.

Our Solution

• • Pavers: Installed 1,200 sq. ft. of Belgard Dimension 18 pavers in Rio, which is a modern, large-format system that provides a smooth, contemporary surface and fewer joints for easier maintenance.

• • Covered patio: Built an Alumawood freestanding patio cover with recessed LED dimmable lighting (with smart switch for Bluetooth and phone app control) and two ceiling fans to create a cool, usable lounge area year-round.
  • Sun deck: Trex composite sun deck with LED low voltage step lighting tied into the landscape lighting.

• • Water-wise landscape: Added drip irrigation and drought-friendly plantings to cut water use and simplify care.

• • Lighting: Integrated solid-brass LED accent fixtures for long life, warm color, and safe nighttime circulation.

Our Process

Consultation & Design — Site visit, sun-path review, product selections (pavers, lighting, fan), and 3-D virtual tour.
Preparation — Demo of uneven hardscape and turf; grading for drainage.
Installation — Paver system set with proper base and edge restraint; covered patio framing; electrical for LEDs and fan; drip system and plantings.
Final Touches — Aim and dim LED lighting, clean lines at paver edges, walkthrough and maintenance tips.
